Things to do

Below are some of our favorite activities and spots on the island.

Arikok National Park

Aruba’s natural reserve park makes up close to 20% of the entire island. Amazing views and plenty of picture opportunities allow you to explore for hours.

Walk right up to the 10 wind turbines of wind park Vader Piet and experience how massive these structures are when looking straight up at them. Or venture into the caves if you don’t mind the bats flapping around you.

A four-wheel drive vehicle with some clearance is recommended for some of the trickier and steeper parts.

If you’ve arranged a car to head into Arikok, definitely swing by the Donkey Sanctuary on the way there. Tucked away between the hills you can feed and spend time with the remaining donkey population on the island.

The donkeys will happily unburden you of any apples and carrots you bring along. General admission is free. Donations are always appreciated as the sanctuary is run with the support of volunteers.
